Mum, Dad and I went along to the Pride of Australia awards today and had a great time.
I was nominated in the Young Aussie section and made the final 3. I met Nicole Reggett and her mum Donna (they were sitting at our table) – Nicole was nominated in the Young Aussie section too after doing tons of things to help others.
Nicole was announced as the winner which was really great. It was really good to be nominated with her.
We’re well over the $20,000 mark in donations – we’re calculating totals now.

Jack’s a finalist in the Pride of Australia Award that gets presented on Friday in Brisbane. Jack, Mel and I scored invites to the luncheon so we’re going with fingers and toes crossed. (Both grandmothers have offered money for our tickets but we’ve refused!)
Jack’s mates at school got him down and took a pic of the bike tan. Hopefully it will appear online soon!
Jack got a ‘C’ in Physical Education at school. Maybe he’s not fit enough!

What a wonderful group of people that attended the Ride Celebration Dinner on Saturday night – you could feel the love!
Their generosity to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia was fantastic and greatly appreciated. The best example of this was that a $200 gift voucher was auctioned off…….and sold for $400!

Jack has ridden his bike into Surfers Paradise to finish his epic across Australia bike ride – cycling 4,500 kms in just 30 days to raise funds and awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia.
It was easy with the bike storage and then we went off to celebrate this great bike ride.
Jack’s very excited this morning as we’re about to head out from Murwillumbah and head for Surfers and the completion of our 4,500 journey.
We’re meeting some mates at Currumbin Alley at 10.30 am and then will be heading for Surfers Paradise, finishing under the Surfers Paradise sign at the end of Cavill Mall at midday.

A relatively easy day today except for the Kyogle Ranges. David, Chris and Harry took a rest day, whilst Jack and I tackled the ranges.
Straight out of the beautiful town of Kyogle into a 1 hour climb, then down into the beautiful valley. We’ve done this ride before so are starting to feel like we’re close to home.

After a nice breakfast at the Sphinx Rock Cafe, it was an easy roll down into Murwillumbah where we are to stay for the night.
With just 65 kms tomorrow, we’re can smell the salt air.
We completed a few radio interviews as well as organised some media for the finish tomorrow under the Surefrs Paradise sign at midday.
In September 2008, 15 year old Jack Sinclair and his dad Brendon, will cycle 4,500 kms across Australia (from Perth to Surfers Paradise) in just 30 days.
The ride will be used to raise to help raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia - a fantastic organisation who match up mentors to children who need a positive role model. Let's give a helping hand.
