I did a speech a few weeks back to 400 Grade 9 students at the yLead leadership day.
Thanks to those people who did the survey after to let me know how I did – 13 people did the survey and they all went in the draw to win an iPod Shuffle and a $50 iTunes Gift card.
The draw was done by my dog!
And the winner is…….watch the video below.
I’m Now Working
I’m taking a year to do a few things before I get into my aviation career.
I’m currently working for my dad on this cool bike storage web site.
When you’re flying along at 50 km/hr on your Trek the one thing you really don’t want to see standing on the side of the road is a kangaroo.
You see, kangaroos aren’t exactly know for their road sense. But this one was okay. He managed to miss Jack by a whopping 0.5 second! Let’s go to the video…….
I’ve had a few people ask me for a training update:
All going great. We’re cycling anywhere between 50-100km most days. Some days hills, some days nice and flat.
Mel and I came home today to find a note from Jack that he’d gone for a ride (which he often does by himself). We zipped out and caught him on a nice climb he does when he only has an hour or so.
Here’s the elevation profile (towards the end of the video you get a good sense of just how steep the climb is):
Robbie has come on board as our Ride Ambassador and had this to say:
“To dedicate and use the ride to raise funds and awareness for the great work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia is a testament to Jack and I’ve been extremely impressed by his preparation, his dedication and his commitment to supporting those who need a helping hand.”
Robbie’s a great guy who does a lot to promote cycling, as well as his charity work – thanks Robbie.
In September 2008, 15 year old Jack Sinclair and his dad Brendon, will cycle 4,500 kms across Australia (from Perth to Surfers Paradise) in just 30 days.
The ride will be used to raise to help raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia - a fantastic organisation who match up mentors to children who need a positive role model. Let's give a helping hand.
Ride Ambassador is Robbie McEwen
Cycling legend Robbie McEwen is our Ride Ambassador and said:
"For a young man of just 15 years of age to undertake this huge journey with the discipline and commitment he is showing is inspiring."
