9 yo Tim Summers puts his head inside Jack’s tent and sees he’s getting a leg massage.
“Why are you getting a massage?” he asks.
“Because he’s cycled a very long way and a massage helps,” says Jack’s mum.
Tim’s reply: “Oh, harden up!”
One of our great supporters and advisers is legendary Gold Coast cyclist and all round nice guy Peter 'Jonah' Lawton.
Jonah rode from Perth to the Gold Coast in March 2007 in an amazing 15 days - at 300 km per day that is an incredible achievement.
Jonah and his partner Diane have provided us with a ton of practical information and equipment to make the Perth to Paradise ride much easier than it would otherwise be. Thanks so much guys!

Hi everyone! It’s been great following your progress and how successful you have been! Jack, you are an inspiration to everyone - young and old!! Mel and Brendan and the rest of the family - you’re the greatest and what an adventure you’re having! I’m jealous!! We wish you safely back. I agree… Harden up son….! no Year 10 girl is going to want a boy who gets a massge every night by his mum or sisters… regardles of the fact that he may have cycled 150km for the last 21 days. Harden up!! and eat some pies boy!
